Barcelona is one of those cities where getting from point A to point B is simple, once you understand how the system works. Whether you’re here for a few days or settling in for a few months, the city’s integrated public transport network makes exploring easy, affordable, and efficient.

The T-mobilitat Card: Your Key to the City

The backbone of Barcelona’s transport system is the T-mobilitat, a personal, rechargeable contactless card. Instead of buying individual tickets every time you travel, you can load different travel passes onto this single card and move seamlessly across metro, buses, trams, and trains.

There are different types of tickets that you can charge on your card:

T-usual: the monthly pass

  • Unlimited travel for 30 days
  • Personal and requires identification
  • Valid for airport’s metro stations
  • Price: 22.80€ (1 zone)

T-casual: a 10-journey ticket

  • Single-user pass for 10 integrated journeys
  • Not registered to a specific person
  • Not valid for airport’s metro stations
  • Price: 13€ (1 zone)

T-jove: youth pass (under 30)

  • Unlimited travel for 90 days
  • Access to all 7 fare zones
  • Personal use only
  • Valid for airport’s metro stations
  • Price: 45.50€
